• Studies and Doctorate: Studied medicine at Heidelberg University (1986–1993), completed the state examination and doctorate in 1993.
• Specialist Training: Began training in internal medicine and cardiology at the Department of Internal Medicine II, Charité, Campus Benjamin Franklin (CBF), in 1996.
• Habilitation: Achieved habilitation in internal medicine at Charité in Berlin in 2003.

• Since 2004, has served as an interventional senior physician at the clinic.
• In 2007, became Deputy Clinic Director and Senior Consultant of the Department of Cardiology and Pulmonology at Charité, Campus Benjamin Franklin.
